If neither the dealer nor the player manage to score an 8 or 9 from the first two playing cards, then the following rules apply:
Player Rule: If the player has an initial score of 0-5, they will receive a new card, and if the initial score is 6-7 they will sit and the rule below will apply.
Dealer rule: The dealer will draw a card if he has a score of 0-5, and if his score is 6-7 he will stand.
